Pregnancy 38 weeks: Home Stretch ….

Dec 25, 2011 by

WOW I can’t even believe that I am already at week 38 and only have 11 days left until my due date. This last trimester has been … let’s just say difficult. My energy levels dropped a lot, morning sickness came back, and holy nesting LOL.

It was so weird the 1st week of my 3rd trimester I got morning sickness and tired and hasn’t really gone away but I have gotten use it. Lane and Brad have been so great helping me out with everything which has been so sweet and nice.

Then came the nesting phase which I know is a good thing because you have to get things done and prepared but I wouldn’t consider myself a clean freak by any means and now when anything in my house isn’t picked up or things are out of place it just drives me crazy like I have OCD. Brad is digging this new change in me LOL but I keep trying to tell myself it’s ok to have things NOT perfect just hard actually accepting that. I hear a lot of other pregnant women go through this as well so if you are reading this prepare yourself. It’s been really fun including Lane in everything… every time I start cleaning and taking Lane’s old baby stuff out to get ready he has helped me and LOVES IT! We washed all the bottle together and even though it took a lot longer I let him clean them all and do most of the work so he knows he is a SUPER HERO BIG BROTHER HELPER. Thats what he calls himself lol ;)

The last 2 weeks I came down with a bug that has been going around and I had a runny nose, boy aches, etc and just couldn’t fight it which is so weird because I never get sick EVER and if i start feeling sick my body usually fights it off but the Dr told me it’s harder to fight it off when you are pregnant because the baby is taking a lot out of you. Finally I got over that though and was feeling better and started our countdown :)

2 days ago though I was just laying in bed with Lane and we were watching TV and I was talking to my Mom about Christmas plans and I got horrible pain in my back that came on fast and strong. I told my mom I had to go because the pain was so bad it was hard to breathe. Brad came home 5 minutes after that and it had gotten even worse and I was in tears. Now people may think I just am a baby when it comes to pain which I don’t like pain don’t get me wrong but I gave birth to my son Lane all natural with ZERO TEARS and I told Brad right when he walked in that this pain was worse than labor with Lane. I tried taking a quick shower thinking the heat would help but it only kept getting worse.

We went to the hospital (dropped Lane off with my parents) and they all thought I was in labor when we got to the OB but I straight out told them I don’t think I am, I explained how it was EXTREME pain that was constant and with labor pains I experienced before they came and went and they gradually came on. No position helped me feel better and just nothing helped. The pain level was at a 10+

They found out the baby was great WHICH IS ALL THAT MATTERS so thank God for that, thats what I was most scared of. The Dr said it sounded like Kidney Stones and I had blood in my urine so they gave me medicine and FINALLY the pain went from a 10 to a 4 which I could sleep with that level of pain at least. They kept me over night, gave me a ultrasound in the am, and after that sent us home with meds and put me on bed rest until the pain goes away. The pain hasn’t gone away yet but Im hoping that it will go away SOON before I go into labor mainly because with a new baby at home how can a Mother be on bed rest and in pain you know?

Brad and I are just so thankful that our baby is doing great (best Christmas gift ever)  and that we have great family and friends that have sent us their thoughts and prayers :) The countdown continues and we only have 10 days or less until we welcome our NEW BABY into the world.

MERRY CHRISTMAS, GOD BLESS, AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!
