Positive Parenting Tip
I have to say that being a parent to a three year old is a struggle at time and especially when Lane is trying with all he’s got to push my buttons, but it is the best job in the world and I wouldn’t change anything for the world. When my son got into the toddler age group and started to push my buttons here and there I sometimes admittedly would lose my cool and I found out THAT NEVER WORKDED! What does work for me is positive parenting and I will be blogging about all the things that I have tried that HAVE worked for my strong willed little boy
Positive Parenting Tip #1:
When you walk in from work, the grocery store, or even back in from outside make sure you are focused and happy to see them. A lot of times parents (my husband and I included) will walk in not even thinking about it and be on the phone, looking at the mail, trying to get dinner going, etc. because we are all busy; take the time to greet your child with a smile. Make sure the very first thing you do when you walk in is drop everything and SMILE at them and get down to their eye level. Show them how happy you are to see them and explain to them that you missed them. Doing this will not only make your child feel very important and loved but YOU will feel that too.
Parenting is the MOST important job in the world and it really is all about the little things that make the biggest difference.
